Description
VAC2/S-15E 15A 4kW 230V Single Phase Switched Fan Speed Controller
The VAC2/S-15E Single Phase Switched Fan Speed Controller is a robust and compact variable phase-angle regulator designed for precise control of single-phase mains-driven inductive loads. Rated at 15A for 230V applications, it provides adjustable 0–98% output for accurate control of induction motors, fans and pumps.
Featuring an integrated ON/OFF switch, minimum set-speed adjustment, large TRIAC for high inrush current handling, and an integral R-C snubber network, the VAC2/S-15E provides reliable and flexible speed control for HVAC, ventilation and industrial applications.
Important: For 15A operation, the controller must be mounted to a suitable heatsink or panel rated at 2°C/W or better. Heatsink paste is essential between the controller and heatsink to ensure effective thermal bonding.
The package includes the controller, control knob, label, and printed datasheet.
Key Features:
- Adjustable Output: 0-98% for tailored control of equipment demands.

Operation
The VAC2/S-15E uses variable phase-angle control to regulate the voltage supplied to single-phase inductive loads. Its 0–98% variable output provides smooth adjustment of fan and motor speed.
The integrated ON/OFF switch allows convenient local operation, while the rear minimum-speed adjuster enables installers to establish a suitable minimum output voltage. This helps prevent connected motors from operating too slowly.
A large TRIAC provides increased capability for high starting and inrush currents. The integrated R-C snubber network is designed to improve switching performance when controlling inductive loads such as motors and fans.
Applications
The VAC2/S-15E is ideal for single-phase induction motors, ventilation fans, HVAC systems, industrial fans, extraction systems, pumps, air-handling equipment, building ventilation, commercial ventilation systems and other suitable mains-driven inductive loads.

Which VAC fan controller is right for my application?
The easiest way to select a VAC controller is to consider three things: supply voltage, load requirements and whether you need an integrated ON/OFF switch.
- 110V application? Choose a VAC1 model.
- 230V application? Choose a VAC2 model.
- Need an integrated ON/OFF switch? Choose an /S model.
- Need variable speed control only? Choose the standard model.
Important: Always verify the motor’s compatibility with phase-angle speed control and check the actual running current, starting characteristics, ambient temperature and thermal requirements before selecting a controller.
