Description
VAC1/S-15E 15A 1.6kW 110V Single Phase Switched Fan Controller
The VAC1/S-15E Single Phase Switched Fan Controller is a robust and compact variable phase-angle regulator designed for precise control of single-phase mains-driven inductive loads. Rated at 15A for 110V applications, it provides infinitely variable voltage control from 0–98% output, allowing accurate adjustment of motor and fan speed.
With an integrated ON/OFF switch, minimum set-speed adjustment, large TRIAC for high inrush current handling, and an R-C snubber network for inductive loads, the VAC1/S-15E is a reliable solution for HVAC, ventilation, and industrial fan-control applications. The enclosed design provides convenient installation, while the rear minimum-speed adjuster helps prevent motors from operating below their recommended speed.
Important:For 15A operation, the controller must be mounted to a suitable heatsink or panel rated at2°C/W or better.Heatsink paste is essentialbetween the controller and heatsink to ensure effective thermal bonding.
The package includes the controller, control knob, label, and printed datasheet.

Operation
The VAC1/S-15E regulates the voltage supplied to single-phase inductive loads using variable phase-angle control. The adjustable 0–98% output enables smooth control of fan and motor speed according to application requirements.
The integrated ON/OFF switch provides convenient local control, while the rear minimum-speed adjuster allows the installer to establish a suitable minimum operating voltage. This helps prevent connected motors from running too slowly, which can improve operational reliability.
A large TRIAC provides additional capacity for high starting and inrush currents, while the integrated R-C snubber network helps improve performance when controlling inductive loads.
Applications
The VAC1/S-15E is suitable for single-phase induction motors, ventilation fans, HVAC systems, industrial fans, extraction systems, pumps, air-handling equipment, building ventilation, heating and ventilation applications and other suitable mains-driven inductive loads.

Which VAC fan controller is right for my application?
The easiest way to select a VAC controller is to consider three things: supply voltage, load requirements and whether you need an integrated ON/OFF switch.
- 110V application? Choose a VAC1 model.
- 230V application? Choose a VAC2 model.
- Need an integrated ON/OFF switch? Choose an /S model.
- Need variable speed control only? Choose the standard model.
Important: Always verify the motor’s compatibility with phase-angle speed control and check the actual running current, starting characteristics, ambient temperature and thermal requirements before selecting a controller.
